Membrana Introduces Polymer Additive Absorption System

With regard to the easy spillage of liquid additives, the slippage during extrusion, the long time required for cleaning the equipment, and the need to increase the investment in the separation of additives, Membrana introduced a porous solid absorption system. Membrana's Accurel MP product for liquid and heat-sensitive additives can increase filler loading by up to 75%. The product is a microporous spherical pellet composed of five different polyolefins and nylon 6, which can be used in combination with other polymers.

The solid absorption systems being developed are mainly polycarbonate, polyester, acrylic and polystyrene absorbers. These non-hygroscopic absorbents, like sponges, can absorb many types of liquid or molten solid additives.
