Plasma (ACTIS) technology is to send gaseous acetylene into a PET bottle under vacuum conditions. The acetylene is intensified by a microwave processor and converted into a plasma state. Plasma particles hit the wall and the energy suddenly disappears and forms on the wall. A very thin and dense solid state highly oxidized amorphous carbon coating with a thickness of less than 20nm. It is said that a PET bottle with a capacity of 500ml has a coating weight of only 8-9g, which is only 3/10000 of the bottle body mass. , but it has excellent barrier properties. Compared with the performance of pure PET bottled beer after 6 months, the permeability to oxygen was increased 30 times; the loss of carbon dioxide resistance was increased by 7 times, the water flow through the flow decreased by 2/3 to 1/2; acetaldehyde The dissolution weight decreased by 5/6; the aroma mobility was also significantly reduced. Compared with the bottled beer in the glass bottle, the bubble stability is superior except for a slightly lower carbon dioxide content. The rest of the indicators are flat.

According to reports, PET bottles handled by ACTIS have been approved by the TND (European Health Safety Accreditation Agency), and the coatings coated by ACTIS are safe to food and have no leached material. Simulation experiments show that food grade safety requirements are met. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accreditation of this coating for hygienic safety is in progress.

ACTIS PET beer bottles handled by the company are easy to recycle and reuse, which is beneficial to environmental protection, but its main disadvantages are complicated processes and high costs.
